Is this the connection speed in my sys log?

Mar 25 21:57:01 user.info kernel: eth0: 100Mbps Full-duplex operation.

I have a gigabit card, and my switch indicates that it is connected at gigabit speed. I am at the bottom of the learning curve, so I hope this is not to stupid a question.

BIG44G:

Yes, that is the current capacity of your ethernet connection.

Make sure to use a good cable that is properly rated for gigabit, otherwise the auto-sense capability in the switch or your NIC downgrades to 100mbps.
