Hi!
I've got an Adaptec 2400A Raid controller for 4 IDE channels.

Now i want to use my old drives (running under NasLite2 at the 2 build-in IDEs of my PC) at that controller.

Must i re-format them?
Or do they run as they are - on the new controller?

Thomas

You can't have those running in raid without formatting. If the card is supported, then it may be possible to run the existing drives as individual volumes.

What do you want to do with the card? Set up a RAID 0 or 5 array?
If yes then your 4 drives should be of similar sizes and then you can create an array of a size 3 x size of smallest drive. The card will initialise the array and then it will be visible to naslite as one drive which still has to be formatted.
