Just bought the USB drive without realizing I can boot via USB. Searched these forums and found some excellent info. I have the system boot through a kicker, now the only issue I have is one screen that goes through 3 checks it seems, the first one passes, the second says this message; detecting configuration device (unavailable). I am completely at a loss on this one. After it says this, it basically goes through a few more screens before shutting the system down automatically. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

first sentence in my statement wrong! I can't book, that is the reason for the kicker. Also, should I try another kicker?

Yeah try one of the other kickers. On my system only one of them works.

Hi dellguy,

The kicker you are using is one from my website?

there is one there that goes though the various usb intefaces and it detects your device then fails?

or are you using the original? kicker.

Make sure that you make your usb pen a superfloppy.

Ok,

The one that detects the usb pen is fine, you see the unavaible means that its not detecting anything on the other usb interface. if the kicker detects a usb pen then it usually boots it.

Please forgive my ignorance, but it sounds like you are saying that I need to try another kicker. Also, stupid question, but once it boots from the kicker (hopefully it will) do you still have to have the boot cd in their?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,

I'll try to make the steps clear.

plug in the usb pen and boot the naslite usb version once booted and it should detect your usb pen.. select the superfloppy option. once done remove the Cd and insert the kicker floppy now reboot the server.

When the kicler floppy boots it will try to detect your usb pen and then boot naslite. if that version dont boot then try another.
