Testament to everyone at SE and their products. I know just a little Linux and even less rsync, but I have my second server up and running without a hitch. I wanted to have a way to create copies of the My Docs folders from the various PCs to the NL server. I wanted it as light weight and invisible to the users as possible - so based on some recommendations in this forum I downloaded DeltaCopy. After one false start I had it up and running and scheduled daily ( daily was to test - will move it to weekly once I'm satisfied it's working). Thanks to everyone who contributes their expertise to the forums. Now to my question. How do I point the rysnc to a specfic directory in NL? I can set up Deltacopy to point to a "virtual directory" of Disk-0, but if I try and set a path of Disk-0\Backup I get an "unknown module" error in DC. Any thoughts?

Verges,

Ok the good news is you can do it,.

on the naslite hard disk you need to create a folder say "Backup"

Right click on each selection and do modify target path and add the folder Backup/ this goes in front of whats already there

or you could not use Delta copy and just use the command.
edit the command below to suit u and save in notepad as rsync.bat and double click it, u could the shedule it

rsync.exe --verbose -rlt --delete --progress "/cygdrive/C/Documents and Settings/Joe Bloggs/My Documents/" "192.168.0.254::Disk-0/Backup/My Documents/"

pause

if you need any more help get back to me.

gaiden,
Thanks for the quick reply. Your directions seemed pretty obvious so I went back over what I had tried before to double check my steps. I'm embarrassed to say that Billl Gates brainwashing was working on me when I tried set the path in Deltacopy the first time instead of "Disk-0/Backup" I typed "Disk-0\Backup" using a backslash instead of a slash. Tried again and works perfectly. So FYI for anyone using Deltacopy client to set up rsync to NL server - you can edit the destination path in the "Virtual Directory" box. Can't browse to it, but you can direclty edit it. Thanks again for the reply

Hi Verges,

You can also do this in the Filelist, you right click on the path and you get a little box pop up with modify target path.

Target folders is the location on the target server where your files
will get copied. Although DeltaCopy assigns a default value for this
location, it gives you an option to modify it. Target directory is specified as a relative path with respect to the virtual directory on the server, similar to a web server.
