Hi There,

Am looking at utilising SATAII and was looking through the Hardware Reference Guide to see if there were any supported RAID cards. From what I could see there are none listed. Before I make an investment in a SATAII RAID card and drives, could anyone tell me if they have had any experience using SATAII, or if indeed the current version of NASlite-2 supports any SATAII RAID card.

many people use SATAII drives however i suspect most have them connected to SATAI controllers.

IMHO dont pay a premium for SATAII cards since there is no way your going to see the performance difference ... your network will bottleneck way way before this.

Very few if any systems will ever saturate an UATA interface. SATA is overkill in most applications.

In my searching for IDE controllers I have found that locating a LSI Logic MEGARAID IDE RAID Controller is some what difficult, but thus far I have found four or so on Ebay. Has anyone used these?
