Right my nasbox is running well with its 3 drives, and i want to add a 4th ide drive to it now.
Whats the best way and procedure for this?

I am worried that somebody said drive numbers may change, and i add the drive and go to install disc-04 (assuming new drive is 4) and formet/mount only to find out after that i just formatted an old drive of data?

So just wanted to check i do it correctly.
Thanks

I myself am guilty of formatting a drive full of stuff, I blame it on the kids fighting in the background and me not thinking about what I was doing.

V2 will inform you that the drive is not mounted and give you various bits on info on the HD you put in.

But if you are really worried just disconnect the other drives put in the new one format it then switch off and connect the others and your away

Disconnecting the drives is the really safest way.
