If I recall with the older version if you went into the share folder and then viewed your drives these were read only access - looks like this version doesn't have this? Correct -

Basically if I had this -
\\Naslite-1\Disk-1 - this was read/write.

there was also this option -

\\Naslite-1\Shares\Disk-1 where this was read only.

Anyway to do this again?

You can set the drives to READ ONLY at the telnet console. Really easy thing to do.
