Any help would be appreciated, I bought NasLite2-USB in attempt to get it loaded onto my hdd, much like the people booting to cf have done, but even with a regular usb flash drive attached I get the above error. Please help.

I'm attempting to run NASLite-2 USB on an HP Brio- P3/550, 256 MB RAM.
Using a floppy kicker on an add-in USB2 card (VIA 6212L chipset).

Getting a kernal panic error about 3 of every 4 boots: always on a reboot and mostly on a cold boot (doesn't matter whether or not a keyboard is attached).

Have disabled all power management features in bios, along with all RAM caching, shadowing etc.

Memtest (run overnite) shows no errors.

Have exactly the same errors on a second Brio, so looks like its not the MB/processor.

Transferred to a completely different machine, booted fine-except now my copy is unlicensed! :-(
(Have transferred same LAN card)

Any help would be greatly appreciated: preferably, getting it running on the Brio as its quieter :)

TIA for any and all help,
-Darl

I am also using an add-in usb card. I was thinking of taking it out, stripping down to bare basics and see if that works.

Worth a crack, altho I found that I couldn't get the kicker to detect the USB drive if plugged into a USB 1.1 [onboard] port-hence the add-in card.

Odd, really in that the iso flashing utility had no problem loading the card thru a 1.1 port!

Can you post back any results, please?

I've also tried updating the bios on one of the machines -no change. Ditto using another flash drive (given there are notes on some drives possibly being incompatible with some MB's).

Just unlock again using the same procedure that you followed the first time. Your original license will not change, only the unlock.

BigFNDeal: was the USB port you ended up using v1.1 or 2.0?

The port I ended up using was 1.1.
