The NASLite-2 Hardware Reference Guide is now complete and made available here for your review. Included are network, IDE, SATA, SCSI and hardware RAID controllers supported by NASlite-2. Short of testing each device, we took great care in making sure that the guide is accurate, however there is always the remote possibility of incorrect or missing listings.

Any comments are welcome. :!:

This link doesn't work for me. Tried Copy/Paste into different browsers, but it just redirects to a NASLITE basic page and not to any h/w list.

Can you please fix, or provide working link? Thanks in advance,

Same problem here! As a matter of fact, all links in the Serverelements documentation section recurse to the home page. I would really need to see the v2 HCL before ordering.

BTW, never failed to download a PDF from any other site on this PC.

Any other way to access the documentation?

The Hardware Reference Guide list the Adaptec 2410SA PCI card as supported. Is the Dell/Adaptec 2610SA supported? This card was made for DELL but is very similar to the Adaptec 2410SA. The main difference is that this card has 6 ports while the Adaptec 2410SA has only 4 ports.

Thanks

Tom

Tom,

I'm using a 2610SA I purchased off Ebay with no problem. I'm even using it in a 32bit slot vs. 64bit slot, and it still cooks along.

Thanks for the reply. I ran into another question

Are you using desktop drives or enterprise drives. I do not know if it is a problemn or not but Western digital says there can be a problem with some drives during error recovery.

I believe that my array consisting of 8x300Gb ATA drives may have suffered what WD explains.

The array went into degraded mode and I had 2 options. Either replace the drive or reconnect the drive and do a rebuilt.

Being slightly nervous with almost 2TB of video files I replaced the drive.

Of course the supposedly defective drive reformated fine and it is not at all dead.

I have one of these RE WD drives, a 500GB SATAII, in a standalone mode and it works quite well.
