I have never had a MB that did not allow you to disable the onboard ethernet. Ususually its buried in the BIOS settings and occasionally its a jumper on the MB. Did you check the manual?
Me neither. I've followed every path in the BIOS, and have searched a .pdf of the manual for "nic", "network", "lan", etc. No luck. All it tells me is where the port is and how to boot from the LAN.
It's really not an option, anyway, because this board has only one PCI slot, and I'm using a 4-port SATA card in it. (Well, I'm not using it now, but that was the plan...) I bought the motherboard because I wanted a very quiet server, and this one has a passively cooled CPU. Some other VIA products seem to be supported, so I thought this would be, too. I guess most of it is - only the NIC isn't.
