I have and use both NASlite+ v1.5/v2 and the Linksys NSLU2 with firmware v23RA5. I've "overclocked" the NSLU2 (a must) to fully use it's 266 mhz CPU. Side-by-side they both provide a capable NAS function. The NSLU2 permits 2 attached USB disks formatted to .ext3 (despite what anyone might tell you). Generally it provides steady NAS functions (HTTP/FTP), but it is not "quick" ... even overclocked, file transfers, and video streaming are "challenged" ... you can stream DivX/Xvid but that's it. On the other and NASLite+, and particularly v2 is a robust, expandable, reliable, server foundation - that uses old or new PC equipment, and gigabit connectivity (if you choose). You can now even use attached external USB and Firewire drives. I'm coming up on a year of rock solid performance, and no regrets.
So: both work fine, and I have a place on my network for both. But when I stream video and backup my one-of-a-kind photos, music, and important documents, it's NASLite only. I rely on NASLite quality - period.
