My NASlite box was originally in my loft, however I had problems earlier in the year when we had a really hot spell and my NASbox kept shutting down

My garage is built in so it was easy to drop a cable down into it

My NASbox, monitor and keyboard, sit nicely on top of the "beer" fridge right by the door

You don't need monitors and keyboards attached but they were spares and it's so much easier to see what the status is by just opening the door and switching on the monitor, then whilst I'm there I can open the fridge and get a beer
The only minor hitch with it been in the garage is dust, I take off the case sides and get the vacuum in there every couple of months or so.
Good luck with your NASbox I can't recommend it enough it really is the way forward for home networks, and makes media distribution so simple
