Tony,

This sounds like a great new product for people who are using it as a video server. Can you confirm that it now supports files greater than 2Gigs?

Also, is there a simple way to upgrade from Naslite to NasLite+ without losing any data already on the drives.

Regards,

Will

Hi Will,

NASLite-SMB has a file limit of 4GB and not 2GB. NASLite-NFS and NASLite-FTP support files larger that 4GB.

NASLite+ still has the 4GB file size limit as NASLite-SMB, however, that limit affects only SMB transfers. NFS and FTP both support files larger that 4GB.

NASLite+ is fully compatible with all floppy disk versions of NASLite. To move on to NASLite+, all you have to do is configure the NASLite+ network settings. The drives will be mounted and made available as with the floppy-based versions.

Hope that helps.

Tony,

Sorry for the confusion on the size limit. If there is a way to modify the title of the original thread so I don't unnecessarily bother people, I'd be happy to do it.

Thanks for clarifying the limitations though.

I am new to this. I just installed your system and it works great. My question is: How do I use NFS transfer? Am I already using it when I map the drive though the MyComputer map new drive?.
Thank you.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
I followed the instructions and it worked. I have not tested a large file yet however.

I have NFS up and working properly, I think.
I have one problem however. For some reason all folders on my export do not have Write enabled in the "NFS Atribute". Is there a way to enable write for all directories and their sub directories at one time. I seem to only be able to enable it one directory at a time. It will take me a year to do it and make sure I did all of them. (Write is not enabled for any user, Owner groups or other)

Also I have gone into the Services for Unix administrator and enabled file permision for RWand X. I am assuming this, as it does mention will enable all subsequent files saved to the hard drive with all three, RWX, enabled is this correct.

Thank you in advance.
Pierre
