I used a live Qparted/Clonezilla distro to clone a couple of hard drives from my old NASLite box to the newly upgraded NASLite-2 version. At casual glance everything went OK, but I later discovered that the two hard drives had all directories and files assigned to the user and group 'nobody' and and now they can't be accessed in any way.

I can't seem to figure out how to switch the data and files back to the proper user 98, group 98 that NASLite-2 seems to need to function properly.

I've already tried mounting them as NFS mounts to a computer running openSUSE, mounting them as root, and then attempting to modify the permissions, user and group ids, but I keep getting told that they the operation is not permitted.

Does anyone know of a way I can edit these permissions and user setting so that I can recover this data for use?

Be sure that the drive is mounted R/W in the OS you use to try and set the permissions or it will fail.

Alternately why not just hang the old drives in the same box and copy the data over to the new drives after installing and configuring them in NL. This would seem to be the better way to go.
