NASLite Network Attached Storage

Got this intel D915GAV board in my sights on eBay
complete with 3.0 GHz processor and 512MB ram
4 sata ports, 4 pci and 2 pci-e x1 (nice for future updates)


gigabit switches are ordered and I stil have about 100m Cat5e on the shelf for cable upgrade if necessary

All the work is done
Replaced 1 cable
Switches are in place
Gigabit NIC (Intel Pro 100MT) in the server

Just out of curiosity could you rerun diskwriggler with -n set to 5000 instead of 1000? ie "diskwriggler -NTSC -C -t -n 5000 -o z:\". Please post those numbers as well if possible.

Then I got
30MB/s write and 25MB/s read

Bigger files tend to lower speeds? is that normal?

The 1000 frame test was small enough to fit in the available RAM of the server - 5000 frames exceeds this and gives a more accurate reflection of large file transfer speeds.
