I want to evaluate running NASLite on an old laptop with no floppy drive. If it works out, I'm more than willing to pay for the CD version, but I would like to try before I buy.

I saw an old post on the difficulties of making a bootable CD from a 1.7 MB floppy image, but it didn't seem definitive.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

thanks,

-joel

If the old post you were referring is this one, I am sorry to say that it IS definitive:

This doesn't mean that is not possible, as demonstrated by the existence of a CD-ROM and USB key version, simply it is not possible without Reverse Engineering the NAS-Lite floppy or writing your own BIOS "EL TORITO like" extension.
The possibilities above are either illegal or quite frankly a long shot.
