Ralph/Tony,

Question: Is there a way to get to a command prompt on NASLite2?

The reason I am asking is that on my LSI MR SATA 300-8XLP I have 2 drive fault LEDs lit up, however, there is no actual drive fault. I have been working with LSI Tech Support and they would like for me to run a small program so that they could get additional information off of the controller.

The program is linttylog

Please let me know.

Thanks,

PaulT

As far as i know there is no way to get shell access since it's not a full distro. Best thing to do is boot a live cd and run the util.

That would be correct since NASLite uses embedded libraries and offers a stripped environment designed to support only the associated service binaries.

Tony and Dimension: Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate it. I'll give it a try.

They have live Linux boot CD's that just run off the CD/DVD. I think you could mount the NASLite-2 HDD in that to do commands you like in the shell.

I am thinking of doing this to copy from NASLite-2 CDD to HDD when I get the hard drive for it. That way all the dates and stuff will all so copy.
