I upgraded a few drives and one of my drives which was a mirror is giving me probs. I removed the mirror through the admin utility and rebooted. NASLite sees the drive. It shows that it is still about half full but I cannot see any of the files on the drive. My other drives which were not mirrors still operate normally. Am I doing something wrong?

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Is the data visible through any of the protocols - FTP? Also what folders if any are listed? Delete the lost+found (assuming no data recovery is necessary) if visible and check the capacity again.

You can always reformat, but it's best to figure out what's causing the discrepancy.

I am using an iMac. I just downloaded filezilla and using FTP I can see all the files on my disk ( Disk-1). I still cannot see the files on Disk-1 when going to Macintosh HD --> Shared --> disk-1. I can see the files on Disk-0 ad Disk-2 fine though.

Are you using Leopard?

Unmount and remount your NASLite share.

Leopard has some issues.

I am using Leopard and still cannot see the files on Disk-1. Disk-0 and Disk-2 I can see fine under Apple Shared. Just started to also get problems where NASLite does not show up in the finder anymore.

Reboot your mac and see if it clears it up.

I've had the same type of problems that are definitely Leopard issues.

Thanks for the suggestions. Still no luck seeing the files on one of my three disks from the iMac. It must be a mac prob because in addition to seeing the files ok with FTP, I can see them on my WindowsXP machine. Strange that I can see the files on Disk-0 (RAID5) and Disk-2 but not disk-1. I guess I will move the data to one of the other disks using Windows, then reformat and move everything back. Hope this works.

I don't see the need to reformat, it's a issue with OSX.

Are you running 10.5.4?

I am running 10.5.4. I use the iMac 99% of the time so I must be able to see the files on Disk-1 through finder. It does not make sense that the iMAc can see files on my other NASLite drives fine but when I open Disk-1 the file list is blank. If I use finder and transfer a file to Disk-1, it transfers and then the file list goes blank again. Disk-1 was the only drive in my system tat was used as a mirror and the problem started as soon as I disabled the mirror. Seems like this may have something to do with it.

I think the problem is caused by Leopard, but here is something you can try. Unmount the drive and go into it using FTP. Delete all AFP database files from the mirror since those may carry conflicting signatures. You may have to go into the folders recursively. Once done, reboot NASLite and remoutn the drive. This is a long shot, but the only thing I can think of.

Hope that helps.

Never could get it to work. Problem was with the iMac and Mac Book Pro. I reformatted the drive, moved the data back and now it is working fine.
