I read the manual but couldn't find anything on this topic. Is it possible to mirror selected folders on the source drive instead of the entire drive? I have an external USB 500GB but my array is 750GB, as far as I understand there is no way I can use the mirror feature with this setup unless I recreate the array to a 500GB one? I don't really need to mirror everything on my array so I'd find it great to be able to select a few folders for mirror rather than the entire drive. Would this be possible to include in a future release?

No, the mirror filesystem does not need to be of the same size as the source filesystem. The mirror occurs on the file level via rsync so the size of the filesystem is not an issue. If you have enough room on the destination drive to handle the files contained by the source, then the mirror event should complete successfully.

Sorry for the rather vague post, what I meant was.. I have 600GB data on my array but I only want to mirror 500GB of it. Is this possible and if not, would it be possible to include in a future release? My impression was that you select a source drive to mirror and it mirrors the entire drive whereas in my case I only want to mirror folder A and folder C excluding folder B.

At first glance I don't see a reason not to do it, but let me think about it before making a promise.

I was searching the forums for just this topic. I have a few harddrives and am going to be buying a 500 gb drive in about a week. I want to backup my wife's documents to a 160gb drive and have it mirror to the 500gb. Will this be a problem with the data already on the 500gb?

I believe the original data on the drive will be wiped during the rsync procedure
