Last night Rsync synced 500Gb RAID 1 and a SATA 500Gb. There was quite a lot to sync. I left NASLite around 2 AM, beeping 1x700Hz/1x300Hz, irregularly. When I got up at seven it was still beeping 1x700Hz/1x300Hz, somewhat more regularly.

There is no reference in the Installation and Administration Guide.

Rebooted, and beeps are gone.

Anybody a clue?

Rsync error generated during the initial mirror will issue that alarm. Next mirror event should correct the problem.

I lost some significant files. Due to the fact that I installed a backup SATA drive, after initial setup. This caused NASLite to change the Disk-2 status into Disk-1 status.

I think -I like NASLite- that this is a huge flaw in the software. It is nasty to discover that Disk-2, suddenly becomes Disk-1. It alters everything: you have to change in tiny detail the setup of your Windows network. There's no warning that this is needed.

It's a known issue and one that we discussed here in the forums. I think Tony and Ralph are working on a fix for it.
