Hi, I'm quite interested in the NASLite+ product. I intend to use NASLite+ as a file server on a Windows network environment.

Just two questions:

1. Once NASLite+ is up and running, I believe all PCs on the network can then Map Network Drive to the exported hardisks on the NASLite+ server?

2. If so, is there a limit on the number of mapped drive?

On a Windows 2000 Profession server, there is a max limit of 10 connections. So as soon as more than 10 drive mappings or more than 10 concurrent users accessing the server, a limit exceeded error will occur. Is there a such limit on the NASLite+ server? If so, what is the limit?

That is one great question. I just looked in the manual and did not see an answer. I did however open 17 simultaneos FTP connections to my naslite_ and all transfered one 10mb file at a time just fine.

There is no limit other than system resources. Theoretically, 2.5M of RAM are necessary for each active SMB connection. Less for FTP or NFS connections. So with enough RAM, there should be no problem connecting from as many computers as necessary.

The network limit obviously applies so max would be 255...
