Hello,

I just purchased the usb version. I burn the cd and then boot from there. I also insert the usb pen. I will a screen to ask me to press enter to activate NASLite-2 USB flash utility. OK, i press enter and there is no more inforamtion, I wait a long time, I see the green light of the cdrom is always on. Then I see the black screen only.

Here is my hardware config:

celeron 420, abit lg-95, abit 667 1gb, seagate 500gbx2, sandisk usb pen.

Could be a number of things. Boot the disk and try programming your USB on another machine to see if that works. If the same thing happens, then you may have burned a bad disk. Slow the burn speed down next time. That usually ensures a better copy anyway.

Some USB sticks are goofy and don't work for crap. Try using another one to see if that's the cause. :)

I burn another cd, I use imgburn, I even checked verify to make sure the cd is good. The result is just the same.

I also do the same thing in another pc, no luck. I use another usb pen, still can't flash it to the usb pen.

The USB flash thing you tried, different brands or the same? And the PCs, were those the same? I've programmed a ton of those and although on occasion I may have a glitch, trying on a different PC or with a different USB stick has always worked.

What hardware are you doing this with?

I got 2 usb pen:

1. sandisk - 4gb
2 e-blue - 128mb

I got 3 pcs.

1. celeron 420, abit lg-95, adata 667 1gb, seagate 500gbx2,320gbx3
2. e6300, gigabyte g965, adata 800 1gbx2, seagate 320gb
3. e6600, gigabyte p965, adata 800 1gbx2, seagate 320gb

I test both usb pen in both 1 and 2 pc (didn't try number 3 pc).

The result is the same. I just can't flash to the usb pen.

The sandisk usb pen can work with other nas OS or linux (e.g. freenas, unraid, puppy linux.....).

Should I try anotehr usb pen?

Try setting the PC's USB to 1.1 in the BIOS. This has worked for me.
