I can't get my disk to mirror. I am using NASLite-2.06 with 2 160GB drives. I want to mirror disk-0 to disk-1. I have disk-1 set to RO. When I am in the Disk-0 config menu I select option 9 (Mirror to disk-0) in the Mirror to disk-0 menu I type:

Mirror: > /Disk-1/00

I Get this...

Invalid Mirror Parameters

Disk-0 cannot be set to mirror (/disk-1/00) as specified. The Mirror source contains one or more invalid parameters as follows:

Mirror Parameter Settings:
Source: [disk-1]
Mirror: [01]

Am I missing something??

Rammer,

The only time rsync needs to be enabled is if you are exporting via rsync on the network. For local mirrors, the service does not need to be enabled at all. The problem you are having is with the way you are identifying the drive to be mirrored. NASLite-2, as with any standard UNIX variant, is case sensitive, so in order for your mirror to be set properly, you must reference Disk-1 and not disk-1.

Hope that helps...

Hi,

Is it possible to create two identical partitions on two seperate drives (say 100G) from a 320 GB drives, and then mirror the100GB partition to one another.

eg

Disk-0 Disk-1
220Gb partition (not mirrored) 220Gb partition (not mirrored)
100GB partition (mirrorred to Disk-1 100GB partition (mirrorred Disk-0

Mdub
