My NASLite-2 USB was working fine for a long time. I shut it down while my house was being remodeled. During the remodeling period, there were several thunderstorms that caused the power to go out in the house. The NASLite server box had been connected to the surge protector, but was not turned on. Yesterday, I tried to turn it on for the 1st time in a month and the server won't boot. After "verify DPMI pool data" (or something to that effect), I see "boot failure".

Has anyone seen this problem? Any advice on how to recover?

ps. I took the USB drive and plugged it into an XP box and i can see all the files on it OK.

I did look into that and the BIOS was correct. I reset it anyway and re-configured the system from scratch. Same result.

I am tempted to rebuild my USB key from scratch and rebuild a whole new system as that does not take very long. However, I am worried about losing data on my 4 x 300G drives. Any danger of that happening?

had the exact same problem, it was my USB stick failing. I just reinstalled NL on another one, and haven't had a problem since.

Your drives will be fine, just don't format them

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a go.
