Hi all,

New user here, just set up my P166 box to use as a server. Got a 250gb disk which I formated for use with NASLite+ and could access via ftp. However I'm transfering over 150gb to the drive and estimated time over network was over 2 days!! I instead stuck the NASLite+ drive into my PC and accessed the drive via ext2 ifs (http://www.fs-driver.org/index.html). Trouble is once I transfered the files over and stuck the drive back into my NASLite+ box it will now not mount. The status page via the http pages shows the following:

Quote:
Disk-2 Initialization Messages

Checking for Disk-2
Found Disk-2 partition
Attempting to fix Disk-2 filesystem
Disk-2 filesystem is not mountable

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disk-2 Hardware
SAMSUNG SP2514N, ATA DISK drive
attached ide-disk driver.
host protected area => 1
488397168 sectors (250059 MB) w/8192KiB Cache, CHS=30401/255/63

NOTE: Disk-2 is installed and can be configured for use with NASLite+.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong??

Only 32mb :oops:

I took the drive back out and ran NASLite+ on my 'proper' pc and the disk repair part is now running. For the P166 how much RAM would you recommend for disk checking a 250gb (or even a 300gb as I am thinking of adding one too). Time to ebay some EDO sticks :shock:

edit: decided to just upgrade to an athlon 1gz with 256mb :wink:

128M should be good to accommodate the filesystem check. 256M will probably be the sweet spot for that machine in terms of performance.
