I'm trying to setup NASLite2-CCD and it works fine until I try to save the configuration. It appears it's not even trying to read/write the floppy and then gives me:

gzip: /etc/ServerElements/cfg/config.dat.gz: File exists

ERR-0B (FAIL)

I can't figure out what the problem is. Floppy works fine with FreeDOS, both read and write.

Any clues appreciated.

Chuck

How many floppy disks on that machine? Make sure you are using what would be disk A:

I may have figured it out... I pulled the floppy and although the floppy drive looks like a regular drive it's a Mitsubishi LS-120 (a 120MB drive). So now swaping for a regular drive is a problem as the LS-120 uses a 40 pin cable and the floppy drives that I have hanging around are of the 32 pin variety....

Hi cdmeeker,

I was wondering if you have had any further development with your save config issue?

I have experiencing the same problem. I have tried two different floppy drives - both have the same issue. I guess they both could be faulty!?

Thanks

Hello jak:

The simplest test would be to try to boot from a floppy. Format the floppy on a WinXP system with the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" option. After booting successfully the "A:\>" prompt should show. To confirm you can also write to it on the NASLite system (if you created the floppy on another system for example), type in "dir > list.txt" and make sure the text file was successfully created (use "dir" to confirm, for example). If all is well, you now have a working floppy drive and disk ready to try with NASLite.

Thanks georg,

Yeah, booting up from a floppy would have been the obvious test. :)

I grabbed another drive and its saving the config just fine now. Thanks for your help.

Naslite gets the thumm up from me - easy to configure and works perfectly (so far).
