NASLite Network Attached Storage

Hello,

I installed a new 300GB drive to my old Pentium II, the BIOS recognized only 137GB (aprox) that's why I set it to NONE, but Windows XP SP2 was be able to see all the disk so I created a partition and formatted it in NTFS.

Can you tell me what advance I could have using Naslite-SMB instead of Windows XP SP2 (about sharing files, of course)?

I Think 300GB is too much for only one partition, Could Naslite-SMB deal with partitions? How could I create them?

NASLite is a much smaller and cleaner operating system than Windows XP so you don't need as much processor power or memory to run it. It also costs a lot less than a new WinXP CD. If you already have WinXP installed on the machine and are happy with the performance then it comes down to reliability. I have my NASLite box on 24/7 for weeks at a time without problems. Can't say the same for WinXP

NASLite only makes one partition on the drive. Each disk you install will appear as one network drive on a Windows PC.
