 Post subject: SATA by end of year?

sorry for the impertonant title however i am about to buy 4 new large disks and id rather buy sata than ide.

However if SATA is still a long ways of then i will stick with good old IDE.

Be great if you could say yes or no to immenent SATA suport.

SATA support will be available with v2, however we can't promise a release by the end of the year. :wink:

ooo the dilema :) its no small amount of money for 4 big drives and i dont want them outdated weeks after i get them.

what would you do?

Personally, I like known commodities, so if the goal is strictly network storage, IDE vs. SATA makes little difference for me. That’s not to say it shouldn’t to you. SATA obviously has certain advantages.

I am going to do some rationlisation.. if i can recover 100GB i will wait otherwise i will buy good old IDE.

SATA Support! wicked.. you started me off now.... how about PROMISE ULTRA 133 TX2 support? any other info you would like to leak Tony?

how about some teaser info... please....

Wait till Wibur hears about Sata support!
