NASLite Network Attached Storage

Hiya,

My original plan to build a NAS box was going to be an old pc running debian + samba..and 2 IDE controllers (allowing up to 8 large hard drives).... however, NASlite removes the need for running that.
One thing that would be really useful (if possible) is for Naslite/naslite+ to be able to support more than 4 disks... i.e. so I could use one pci controller and have 8 disks in my nas unit..and then i've got another controller to build another nas unit to support up to 8 drives too.

I know debian (and probably many other flavours) support pci ide controllers, is there any chance of incorporating this code in to naslite (or naslite+).

I am more than likely (read 90%) going to puchase naslite+ anyway (after a bit more playing with naslite), but if this could be included it would make the 90% a definite 100%.

Well Naslite+ is a great product, and with V1.4 just released supporting files above 4GB its even better. if you upgrade to Naslite+ you will benefit from faster network speeds then Naslite.

and one more thing some time soon? v2.0 will be released and this hopefully will have all manner of goodies.

i think it is good idea. also RAID 1 spport will be good idea. print server support can be a good idea. i think it would be a good idea.
