I am about to build a new naslite smb box.

My question. The disks i am going to use are already NTFS with lots of data on them.

Rather than copy and paste 750Gb of data to and from drives as the new drives are BLOCKED_WORD and moved to ext2 can I....

use a partition tool to convert the disks to ext2 whilst retaining the data? (i know i can do this but can naslite handle the disks once i have done it?)

Am i correct in saying that once they are converted naslite should just detect and use them?

Anyone done this and have any tips?

Cheers

I'd be very careful about going that route, especially if you value the data. Personally, I’d copy from the NTFS drive to a NASLite drive using a Linux box, or set Windows to copy to your NASLite server and go to bed

unfortunately thats what i thought you would say :(

Its just tricky since the drives are so full... i have to juggle files about just to get one drive free to start the copy process.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
