Almost there.

If all goes as planned, M2 should be available before the end of the month.

It is supposed to, for both audio and video. According to the past messages everything under the \Media folder should be indexed and offered for streaming. I do not think the DRM enabled content will play and I do not think M2 will be able to synch the Apple TV but just be seen on the network as another iTunes library for sharing purposes.

Then we will see and test it when it will be available, hopefully by the end of January 09.

That's true if your appletv is hacked. I've not heard of stock appletv working with anything other than itunes due to the proprietary authentication. How then will naslite m2 work with it is beyond me.

Well if it is hacked is working also with the current NasLite version, like any other sharing server, let's wait for the release.

I hear what you are saying mbmobile, but after many hours of frustration with ubuntu and firefly and countless google hours, i 'm pretty skeptical. Anyone can point me to any documentation that may prove me wrong? I'll be happy to read. :)

I am looking at the Popcorn hour A110, great specs and seems to do most of what it claims.

What a coincidence! I bought one of those yesterday, and I should receive it by the end of the week. :)
Indeed looks like a great piece of kit!

I bought it to replace my Freecom MG-350, which is already starting to show its age. (no HD media playback, interface is starting to look dated,...)

I've heard nothing but good things about it. If you had one of those, then all you need is naslite2 without the overhead of the other stuff in m2.

In the middle of a NL upgrade of hardware right now, should have no problem feeding anything. I am hooking up my SAS array since I have a SAS/SATA hardware RAID controller for it and just got the multilane cable so I can hook it to a SATA controller in the NAS box. Starting off with on 750GB Seagate NS drive and will migrate to a RAID5 array later (The controller allows background migration of the array to different levels and the addition of more drives, The chassis has twelve 3Gb dual lane SAS slots but will accept SATA drives as well.

Hope to be up later this evening after all is back together. My video collection is bumping against the limit of the drive I have for the task. If all goes well and you like the Popcorn hour A110 I might order one my self.

As far as overhead I think it not an issue for me right now, 2.6GHz Celeron with a 1GB of RAM should not have any problems serving up three off four streams of high def.
