Well, all of the pieces arrived safe and sound. I put it all together and had a few minor glitches in setting up the BIOS properly, but once I got it, it installed with NO problems at all!
This is what I have running:
1 - Startech RC4080S Rackmount Enclosure
8 - KINGWIN KF-811-BK DOCK Hot Swap Carrier
1 - BFG Tech 650W power supply
1 - Asus P5K WS motherboard
1 - Intel Celeron 420 (1.6GHz)
2 - 1GB RAM DIMMs
1 - Intel PRO/1000 GT Network Adapter
1 - Brand X PCI VGA Adapter
1 - LSI MegaRAID SATA 300-8XLP 8-Channel Low-Profile RAID Controller Card
8 - Samsung 750GB SATA hard drives (32MB buffer)
1 - 1GB CF (boot drive)
I also modified the Hot Swap carriers with a 1 green and 1 yellow LED. The LSI card has a header for individual drive activity (green LED) and a header for individual drive failures (yellow LED). They originally had just a power LED (green) and a fan failure LED (red). Now they have:
1 - Power LED (Green)
1 - Fan Failure LED (Red)
1 - Drive Activity LED (Green)
1 - Drive Failure LED (Yellow)
This way, I know at a glance if there are any problems with the drives.
Willsy: If you were on the fence about using this motherboard, go for it. Its great!
Ralph/Tony: Once again, GREAT PRODUCT!!!
