NASLite Network Attached Storage

I have noticed that sometimes following a reboot folders change names.

ie Yes Prime Minister becomes YDY70Y~5

The files in the folder seem OK but makes sensible navigation difficult

To add insult to injury, it appears that NL can rename files/folders randomly but does not grant me permission to change them back to their original names.

If NL is corrupting folder names is it also corrupting data?

Um, I doubt that it's Naslite corrupting your files dude. Reading your other posts it appears you have a host of problem on multiple computers. How do you figure it's Naslite crapping out?

I have a ton of Naslite installations at various clients as well as in my house and I have yet to hear of that one. I've said this before so here I go again, 99% of problems people have are hardware related. The rest are incompetence or something like that.

Naslite does what the clients tell it to. If you have open files or cached stuff then I can see a possible issue, but that's user error. Save before rebooting. Other than that, can't say I've had a Naslite server make up names for my files.

Not too sure what is hapening

This box has been running fine for two years.

But since I have moved from XP to NASLite two WD 250GB HDDs have died.

They are only six months old so I will get them replaced by WD. But definitely worth keeping an eye on this problem.

More likely to be the box than the OS
