NASLite-2 v2.05 has some facilities to allow use of USB keyboards instead of conventional PS2. That functionality has not been tested. If anyone is brave enough to try it out, your feedback will be appreciated.

Tony, I an intrigued by this product and was trying to do a through comparison with nas lite and freenas this weekend when I ran into the exact problem. I have an abit legacy free MB and would lve to test for you. I do not own 2.x, but would love to evaluate and test your USB functionality.

Let me know.

Hi Tony,

I connected the USB mouse but nothing happened of course ;)

If needed, I can test a USB keyboard with NL 2.05 USB. I have to check how the very old MoBo will react to the USB KB though.

Regards

V2.06 in its current state includes full support for USB keyboards. Support in the 2.05 release is incomplete.

Hi Tony,

Does the USB KB support in 2.06 works even if the BIOS doesn't support USK KB? If this is the case and you need beta testing, I can give you a hand.

Regards.

so what happens if a USB keyboard *doesnt* worK?

here is my situation -->

Older dell GX280? P4 3.2 ghz,
no PS-2 port
original Dell USB keyboard
through POST, the keyboard works without a problem, up until NasLite2 starts to load - at that point the NumLock light goes off and the keyboard stops working.

i believe i have version 2.06 (just bought it/downloaded it two days ago)

any ideas?

thanks!

I have this same issue. Help!!!

First I purchased the CDD version then realized my Dell doesn't have a floppy.
Then, I purchased the USB version and cannot get it to start because my Dell has a usb keyboard. The keyboard works fine in Dell bios.

Help?
