I thought I'd let you know what worked for me.

The Crucial 256mb ram Gizmo http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspe ... es+storage

worked with a old lifetec laptop on the 1.1 usb bus.
also a Abit KT7A Motherboard revision 1.2 plus raid version.
these needed a kicker disk.

this mb booted the usb no problem.
and a Asus A7S8X-MX

An "Easy Disk" USB 2.0 64MB flash drive from DABS worked for me on the same Motherboard as above (Abit KT7A Raid).

(A "disgo Lite" 128MB flash drive did NOT work for me on the same motherboard.)

Ebuyer generic 64MB USB2.0 flash drive works for me using MSI KM4M-V motherboard drive is only £5.47+P&P link below :)
