I've just finished installing the NASLITE server on an old IBM 300PL PC with a
600MHZ P3, 128MB RAM and 100Mbit NIC. The Install was little rigors due to the limitations of the BIOS/MOBO, but I got the server working!!!!
WOW!!!
How could I have ever lived without it!!??
I am in the process of organizing my media files and storing them on the NAS server. Before I get ahead of myself, I would like to know If I now change the 100 Mbit NIC with a 1000Mbit NIC would I
just have to create a floppy with the SMB Gig OS, install the new NIC, boot and reconfigure the the WORKGROUP name???
Any help would be appreciated!!
Never mind, the software recognises any previous installs plus the new NIC!!
