One of my Samsung Spinpoint F2 EcoGreen (HD103SI) disks has just failed. It's within Samsung's three-year warranty, so I set about obtaining an RMA number to return it for replacement. In their RMA terms and conditions it states:

For RAID system like a NAS, Samsung allow you to use RAID models only. Visit
http://www.samsunghdd.com for more information. If you use an incorrect product installed in your RAID system then Samsung will reject your warranty request.
So, two questions. Can Samsung legally impose this condition long after the purchase? What exactly is a "RAID model" drive? I can find no information on their website about which drives are intended to be used in RAIDs. There is no mention of "RAID" in the overview or the specifications for any of their hard drives.
