Just received an Opteron 250 based Rackable Server with 2GB DDR.
I put an *old* 80GB Maxtor drive in it for testing purposes and got the following (using M2x32 v1.62):
Code:
Frame Resolution : 512 x 512
Bytes / Pixel : 4.00 (padded) (10 bit, 4:4:4 sampling)
Frame Size : 1,048,576 bytes
File Type : All frames in one container file (17,179,869,184 bytes).
Writing 16384 x 1048576 byte frames into file v:\/framestream.dat
Write Summary : 16384.00 frames in 317.59 secs
: 44.33(min) 51.59(avg) 68.39(max) FPS
: 44.33(min) 51.59(avg) 68.39(max) MB/s
Reading 16384 x 1048576 byte frames from file v:\/framestream.dat
Read Summary : 16384.00 frames in 371.65 secs
: 0.45(min) 44.08(avg) 48.77(max) FPS
: 0.45(min) 44.08(avg) 48.77(max) MB/s
I get the feeling I'm limited by the HDD, so I'll try with a modern WD 640GB SATA-II drive and see what happens.
Very easy to set up, however I would recommend ear protection if you plan on staying anywhere near it - it's LOUD!

Put in the 640GB WD drive and got:
Code:
Frame Resolution : 512 x 512
Bytes / Pixel : 4.00 (padded) (10 bit, 4:4:4 sampling)
Frame Size : 1,048,576 bytes
File Type : All frames in one container file (17,179,869,184 bytes).

: 48.05(min) 61.61(avg) 107.09(max) MB/s
Reading 16384 x 1048576 byte frames from file v:\/framestream.dat
Read Summary : 16384.00 frames in 360.31 secs

Installed M2x64 v1.63 and got:

Frame Size : 1,048,576 bytes
File Type : All frames in one container file (17,179,869,184 bytes).
Writing 16384 x 1048576 byte frames into file v:\/framestream.dat
Write Summary : 16384.00 frames in 314.12 secs
: 21.34(min) 52.16(avg) 80.51(max) FPS
: 21.34(min) 52.16(avg) 80.51(max) MB/s
Reading 16384 x 1048576 byte frames from file v:\/framestream.dat
Read Summary : 16384.00 frames in 369.75 secs
: 8.81(min) 44.31(avg) 46.13(max) FPS

So, x64 seems to be slower than x32....
