Looks like you are about to open up a big can of whoopass for your self. When I hear "it is said that a third party firmware will support Linux" I just think of all the fun you are in for.

Unless there is a really compelling need for the likes of this and the features it provides then I might be inclined to stay away from one. I couldn't even find a link to it on Asus's site with a quick search.

info does seem thin on the ground - they seem to go for little money second hand - possibly for that reason - or maybe they just dont work

but if it worked it could be useful - see how little i can buy one for and maybe then have a play

A quick perusal of a review showed that it had fair performance on UTP. IF you are lust looking for a project to mess about with and you can get one cheap then go for it, what the hell! It does have some utility to it.
