Does anybody know if the Promise S150 TX4 RAID controller can take 1 or even 1.5 TB drives?

Thanks for answering.

I should think that it is a moot question since NL uses a drive overlay to map the HDA and allow older computers to be used for NL. IE: My money says it will work.

Isn't this a firmware connected issue, Mike? I mean, what has NASLite to do with the appreciation of hard drives by some piece of hardware?

The ATA and SATA interfaces are for the most part stupid. They seldom have an offload engine on the card, the way a hardware RAID card might, and simply present the drive to the computer after converting the framing and interface to that of the PC in which it is installed. This is not like say a SCSI, SAS, or FC-AL interfaced drive/card which are all designed to handle the mundane issues with command queuing and DMAs etc.

My bet is still that it will work. Besides, a new card should not cost more than say 10-15 euros if I am wrong.

I suppose your reply is rather philosophical? The older Promise S150 TX4 is handling the 'mundane' - as you put it - issues, I suspect, and expect. And you're right: I payed USD 20 for a refurbished card @ geeks.com
