Are you serious? USB3 and SATA3 are not even out in the channel yet. USB3 is still in draft form and compliant chips will not be rolling off the fabs for months to come.

ALL DRIVES at present can not saturate the SATA2 interface and so there is little to no need for SATA3 other than to drive hardware sales.

At the present NL is running on a 2.4.2x kernel and will be switching to the 2.6.xx kernel later this year or early the next. This should add support for more modern hardware and fix a few of the issues that users have had regarding hardware driver support.

Me thinks you might be a bit confused.

SATA II is a 3GB/sec interface, SATA III will be a 6GB/sec interface and is in draft right now with some SAS devices starting to be developed. SATA and SAS share the same basic hardware front end interface and in fact SAS controllers will see and use SATA devices that are attached to them as they would any other SAS drive.

USB2 is 480Mb/sec and USB3 will be much higher, up to 4.8Gb/sec and is still in development right now.

Both SATA II and USB devices are supported in NASLite right now and you should consult the list of supported hardware at their web page for further info.
