Hi,

Sorry if this question has been asked before (I'm new to naslite) :
Is it possible to install NasLite2 on a DOM (Disk On Module) or CF (Compact Flash) ?

Thank you,
Regards.

Naslite2-USB can be easily installed on a CF card
I did so myself,
check out the naslite2-usb forum for more info

but basically it's simple
connect CF card with a simple usb-cf card reader
boot naslite2 cd
go through the usb flash utility
remove cd,power down, transfer the Cf card into your CF-IDE adapter, reboot
go through the rest of the configuration, the config will be saved to you CF card
It's also explained in the naslite2 installation and administration guide
The guide can be downloaded from here

good luck

USB-Turbo DiskOnModule,
DESCRIPTION

The USB interface has become extremely popular due to its speed and convenience although traditionally it has not supported system boot up. With USB DOM, you now can boot and run your OS from this high performance interface.

Kinda a neat product but the price here in the USA would SUCK ASS! The Dollar VS the Euro is not a good thing for us.

It's worse than that, Mike, those were £ not €...... (£1 equals approx €1.25 at the moment)

I myself will be ordering one from the UK site and let you know who I get on with it.

I want to try something like this:

A CF to PATA adapter. I would have already tried it, but my dell machine boots fine off a USB connected flash drive...

There is a CF to PATA adapter that will plug directly into the connector on the motherboard bypassing the need for a cable at all. Do a search for cf to ata adapter on ebay and you will find one. I got mine from there for about $7.00 USD.
