Hiya, Looking forward to building a nas server but need a bit of help as i am totally lost with the choices available. Gone are the days when you only had a few items to pick from.

I have a spare core 2 duo 2.8GHZ processer i would like to use and hoping someone can recommend a motherboard with gigabyte lan and suitable to run 6 500gb sata drives.

I have a large case so not bothered if atx form and with such a large processer will most likely use software raid 5.
I want to use it for storing hd & blueray movie files.

I would just like to make sure it will work with naslite and do not buy a lemon.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Cheers Geronimoe

anything cheap and light will do

having a C2D is pure overkill, but if it's lying there............

I would go with a board with onboard video and LAN
You won't need anything more

but software RAid 5 and NasLite?????????
I think that's a No Go
According to the hardware reference guide only hardware raidcontrollers are supported
