I got a 2610SA from eBay last week, transferred my 700GB of data onto a RAID five array, then decided to update the firmware with a file I got here. I backed up the old firmware first, then tried to flash the new image I'd downloaded. The program gave me an error while trying to flash, saying the card I had was not the card the BIOS on my floppy was for. To my horror, when I tried to boot, after a couple of minutes at the 'Booting controller kernel' stage, I got a firmware error. Now when I try to restore my backup from the file, I get an error that it's not compatible with the card

Would someone else with this card please be able to use the afu.exe utility ( http://mi6.nu/afu.exe ) and a DOS boot disk to create an image of their BIOS, then send it to me ( itsthanatos -AT- gmail.com)

I'd be eternally grateful, as I really can't afford to end up with a £80 brick.

Thanks for your help

Which variant of the 2610SA do you have? I have the HP variant although the Dell variant also exists. If your's is the HP variant I'll certainly dump the firmware and e-mail it to you.

Thanks. I have the Dell version, but I'd be willing to try the HP version. AFAIK they're the same hardware anyway.

The HP version won't work on a Dell card - I tried it the other way about when I initially got my card as the HP 2610SA wasn't supported by NASLite (it is now, in beta). The devices have different PCI-ID values and the AFU.exe is also specific to each variant.

On the Dell website, search for "CERC SATA 6ch Firmware" and you whould find this file:

Best of luck!
