I am just loading up Naslite USB on a P3 256Mb Compaq SFF desktop as my previous MB suffered senile decay. On switch on the POST states correctly 'no keyboard detected' and won't proceed. Installing a keyboard, the kicker disk does its job and all is well. Question...how do I avoid allocating an unnecessary keyboard to this computer?

Thanks jeffjohn

Look in the BIOS for an option to ignore keyboard errors.

Yep - I tried to! Went through all the albeit limited options and disabled all POST reporting functions allowed, to no avail. It must be a Compaq deskPro quirk. Not to worry, I'll scan the local recycling centre for a keyboard! Anyone else using this Compaq SFF P3 866MHz 256 Mb PC ? Thanks All! Jeffjohn
