Hi,
I'm going to implement a central NAS in my house. The principal purpose is to have Media Storage to feed, via iTunes, some AppleTV I will install on the various TVs.
My goal is to rip most of my DVDs in MP4 and store that on NasLite.
Actually my NasLite USB 2.03 NAS runs on a old IBM NetVista P4 1,6Ghz with an LSI Logic MegaRaid Sata-6 with 6 320GB disks in Raid 5 and boots from a CF.
I'm going to change the platform implementing an Intel motherboard with a P4 2.0 and 1GB of ram (if I remember well NasLite supports on 768MB, right) and I will ad another 2 LSI Logic MegaRaid SATA-4 Controllers and another 8 320GB disks for a total of 12.
If I remember well the LSI Logic bios is able to manage multiple MegaRaid controllers in the same system as one with multiple channel, am I right?
If is true, do NasLite has any limitation in the maximum volume size?
Does anybody tried something like that?
Thanks for yor answers and sorry for the cross posting.
