Well Darn!

I saw this on sale today and picked it up figuring that any name brand card nowadays would have WOL. Guess this one goes back to the store.

Finally got around to trying several other NICs: a Trendnet gigabit card and a Linksys LNE100TX. Verified that both supported WOL 2.2. Neither would wake up from a magic packet. The Trendnet uses the same or similar Realtek as the Airlink. The Linksys has an ADMTek (something like that).

I've now tried 3 WOL cards and none work with NASLite and the Airlink does work after DOS or Windows. It must be NASLite. Hopefully the fixes in the next release would improve the odds of getting mine working.

Try booting NL up normally, then perform a shutdown (either by telnet or with power-button), but do *NOT* remove power completely. Then try WOL again (that is how it works on one of my systems with the on-board GigaNIC and the server is on a UPS).

Tony: reminder: I believe this should be part of v2.06 ... right ?

That's what I did: Shutdown via telnet and then immediately tried to wake it up. The difference appears to be that when shutdown from a DOS/Windows boot one or both (don't remember which) of the LEDs on the NIC are still on. A shutdown from NASLite and all is dark. :(
