From my discussion with Ralph on PCI ID association with the aacraid driver:

Code:
{ 0x9005, 0x0285, 0x9005, 0x0293, aac_rx_init, "aacraid",  "ADAPTEC ", "AAR-21610SA SATA ", 2 },                /* AAR-21610SA PCI SATA 16ch (Corsair-16)

So, your card should already be compatible with NASLite. OR, if it's not recognised, it may just be a comparatively simple exercise for Tony to add your (presumably different if it's not recognised) PCI ID against the aacraid driver.

Just as a follow up.

I can confirm the 16 port Adaptec 21610SA RAID card works perfectly with 2.04.

"New" firmware available on the HP site for the HP variant of the 2610SA - 4.2-1-9304, 13th December 2006. (mine's 4.2-1-7368)

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files ... R1002_USEN

Will update when I get home and revert.

Well, the firmware flash went off without a hitch - so well in fact that I searched for the updated firmware for my 3Ware 7500-8 and flashed it as well.

Well now, those very nice people at ServerElements have compiled a patched version of the kernel which includes my card, currently in Beta-test :) -

Mar 14 22:56:38 user.warn kernel: scsi: Detection failed (no card)

As you can see it is recognised (my RAID0 is named 900-R0) and has been formatted and exported without any problems at all.

I am experiencing exactly the same thing with a Dell brander 2610 card. How do I get the patched version for my Naslite 2 CDD v2.04, which I bought 2 days ago?

Me! me! me! ........ <ahem>. Yes, I can indeed confirm that my HP 2610SA still works as it did with the 2.04 [kernel 2.4.34] variant.

Thanks for the addition of requested hardware!

A question for all 2610SA owners.....

What's the maximum size array that can be supported by the card?

The documentation doesn't list any details....

Thanks
