Using NASLite v2.03 on a modern Mobo ... and one of its SATA ports together with a SATA-IDE converter to attach an IDE drive. Tried this several times now with two different drives (an older 20GB Maxtor and a newer 80GB WD). If I do NOT wipe the drives first (WinXP), the format FAILS. If I wipe the drives first (or use Norton Partition Magic to install an ext3 fs), the format SEEMS to be successful, but ultimately I can not mount the drives. On the 20GB Maxtor I even did a full fscheck from the Storage Menu ... the fscheck completes (after a couple of hours) and reports (at the top of the final screen) that the file system was modified.
Disk-0 configuration menu reports the drive as "Interface: IDE, Host-0, Bus-0, Target-0, Lun-0".

Are these converters NOT supported.

Thanks,
:) Georg
