I currently use Windows Media to access the Naslite-2 Server to play my audio files via the PC to local Hi-Fi.
What I would like to do is install a gadget in the lounge downstairs at the end of my ethernet LAN to access these files and play on the vastly better NAD system. Expensive gear such as Pinnacle is available, but more sophisticated than I need. Can anyone advise me on a 'cheap' fan-free simple solution. I imagine I would input the Naslite IP address and be able to explore the music Drive via a small display.

Any thoughts or experience much appreciated! jeffjohn

it is not fan free but the functionality more than makes up for the slight noise.

XBMC on a soft mod xbox.

Quite simply the best solution for this in the world by about 100 times (and really cheap)

It will play just about any format of video, music and picture thre is out there and the GUI choice are VERY professional

Any experiences with Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic; looks attractive and simple to set up. £99 new.

XBMC on a soft mod xbox seems quite an issue to programme judging by the number of google entries on this and expensive from scratch.

The Turtle Beach Audiotron is being used in my home system like this. Have used the AT for years streaming audio from first my PC, then my Buffalo Linkstation, and finally my NASLite box with no problems. It can stream mp3, wma, and other audio formats (no video).

Unfortunately Turtle Beach stopped selling this awesome unit several years ago but you can find them on Ebay.
